Jerry Mitchell, a high school nerd, is assigned to write an article for the school paper about new boy Buddy Revell, who is suspected of being a psychopathic nutcase. When Jerry accidentally touches Buddy, he tells him that they must fight at 3 p.m. in the parking lot. Jerry will do almost anything to avoid the confrontation.
