'Tot altijd,' based on a true event, introduces us to a group of friends in the 1980s who spend their days reveling in their youth and (love) life. Years later, when Thomas, Mario's closest friend and a recent medical graduate, diagnoses Mario with MS, he finds himself between a rock and a hard place (Multiple Sclerosis). Though not fatal, the disease steadily eats away at the patient's bodily functioning and, in some cases, the patient's mind. Mario becomes the face of the action organization "Waardig Sterven" ("Dignified Death"), which advocates for the legalization of euthanasia in Belgium. Thomas does everything he can to keep his best buddy alive, but he can't stand seeing him deteriorate...
