Untold Scandal

This film, which is based on the novel 'Les Liaisons Dangereuses,' is set in aristocratic 18th-century Korea during the end of the Chosun Dynasty, and it is directed by Ang Lee. Lady Cho, the alluring temptress, hires her cad of a younger cousin, Jo-won, to deflower the innocent young Soh-ok, who is to become her husband's concubine, in order to make her look more attractive. However, his interest soon shifts to the graceful and distant Lady Sook, who lives according to her Catholic values and is a woman of few words. Jo-won becomes obsessed with seducing this chaste woman, who has been celibate for nine years after her husband's death, as a result of his inability to seduce her. Chosun's famed playboy, on the other hand, finds that conquering the most pious woman in the kingdom is more difficult than he anticipated.
