Max Baron is a Jewish advertising professional in his twenties who is still reeling from the death of his wife, who died in a car accident. A 40-something diner waitress, Nora Baker enjoys the more adventurous side of life. Whether they are mismatched, their attraction is immediate and searing. The fact that Nora is not a secret from Max's Jewish acquaintances and upper-crust connections for an indefinite period of time, however, causes their class and age gaps to become a hindrance in their relationship.
