In this movie about Greek government in the 1960s, repression is the rule of the day. Z, a leftist troublemaker, seems to have died in a car accident. But given the way things are in politics right now, the death of such a well-known activist raises some troubling questions. Even though it's too late to save Z's life, an autopsy suggests that his death was caused by the ruling party. As the truth gets out, people who are honest have to pay for it.
