The following statement made by Steve Sabol of NFL Films served as the inspiration for the name of the series: It first aired in November 2010 as an NFL Network special focusing on the career of Bill Parcells, and on September15,2011, it made its debut as an episodic series, beginning with the first part of a documentary on Bill Belichick. The documentary had around 657,000 viewers, making it the most-watched documentary in the history of NFL Network. Additionally, it was the second-most watched program in Boston at the time with 151,000 viewers, trailing behind a Boston Red Sox game as the most watched program in the city. The first season was ultimately made available on DVD. The Faces of Tebow marked the premiere of Season Two, which took place on September12, 2012. Belichick's episode of the series received a nomination for an Emmy Award in the categories of "Outstanding Edited Sports Series/Anthology" and "Outstanding Promotional Announcement–Episodic" in 2012.
