Aftershock: Earthquake in New York

CBS presented a four-hour disaster miniseries called Aftershock: Earthquake in New York on November 14 and November 16, 1999, with the first portion airing on November 14 and the second on November 16. It was released on VHS in 2000 and on DVD in 2001. It was based on a book written by Chuck Scarborough. With Charles S. Dutton, Sharon Lawrence, Tom Skerritt, Lisa Nicole Carson, Jennifer Garner, Rachel Ticotin, and Frederick Weller. Under the direction of Mikael Salomon, the miniseries follows five groups of people after a big earthquake hits New York City. Because of the film's spectacular effects, it was nominated for an Emmy Award. While the film's VFX and performances were lauded by critics, its plot, predictability, and lack of reality were roundly criticized.
