Amanda's is an American sitcom based by Fawlty Towers from the 1970s. Amanda's broadcast on ABC on Thursday evenings at 8:30 from 10 February 1983 until 26 May 1983. Amanda Cartwright, the primary character, was portrayed by Bea Arthur. Amanda was the proprietor of "Amanda's by the Sea," a beachside hotel staffed by her son Marty, his spoilt wife Arlene, Earl the cook, and Aldo the bellman. This marked Bea Arthur's first return to a television series since Maude's cancellation in 1978. Jerry Stiller, Leonard Stone, and Todd Susman were among the additional celebrities to appear on Amanda's. The show was recorded before a live studio audience at ABC Studios, 4151 Prospect Avenue, Hollywood, California. After four months and 10 episodes, ABC canceled Amanda's in May 1983, with three more episodes remaining unaired. Shortly thereafter, the A&E network aired reruns of the show.
