American High

American High is an American documentary TV show about the lives of fourteen students at Highland Park High School in Highland Park, Illinois. The show was first shown on Fox, but after four episodes, it was canceled. PBS picked it up later and showed the whole thing. Award-winning documentary filmmaker R. J. Cutler made the series. The show won the Outstanding Non-Fiction Program Emmy Award in 2001. Bouncing Souls wrote and performed the theme tune "American High." Yearbook, a Fox Network documentary series from 1991, also followed the lives of high school students in the suburbs of Chicago.
