Arthur & George
The novel written by Julian Barnes about the man who created Sherlock Holmes, Arthur Conan Doyle, will be adapted into a three-part television series titled Arthur & George, starring Martin Clunes in the title role. The drama takes place in 1906 in Staffordshire, Hampshire, and London and follows Sir Arthur and his trusted secretary, Alfred 'Woodie' Wood as they investigate the case of George Edalji, a young Anglo-Indian solicitor who was imprisoned for allegedly mutilating animals and writing obscene letters. The events that led to George Edalji's imprisonment took place in 1906.
