At the Movies is a Disney-ABC Domestic Television movie review show with two film critics. The show had many titles. Roger Ebert of the Chicago Sun-Times and WLS-TV and Gene Siskel of WBBM-TV were its original hosts. After Siskel's death in 1999, Ebert's frequent collaborator was Sun-Times' Richard Roeper. Ebert stopped appearing in 2006 to treat thyroid cancer; guest hosts filled in. Chicago Tribune's Michael Phillips cohosted from April through August 2008. E! Entertainment TV film critic Ben Lyons and Sirius Satellite Radio broadcaster Ben Mankiewicz took over on September 6, 2008. Michael Phillips and A.O. Scott will return to the show on September 5, 2009. The series was nominated for Primetime Emmys seven times and Outstanding Information Series once, in 1997. It was noted for Siskel and Ebert's "thumbs up/thumbs down" reviews. The show aired in syndication in the US and on CTV in Canada, as well as on ReelzChannel.
