Barrier Master
Yellow Tanabe is the one who writes and illustrates the Kekkaishi manga series, which is about supernatural occurrences. Between the years 2003 and 2011, Shogakukan published it as a serial in the manga magazine Shnen Sunday in Japan. Shogakukan also licensed it to Viz Media for publishing in the English language in North America. It was adapted by Sunrise into a fifty-two episode anime series, and the series aired between October 2006 and February 2008 on Cartoon Network. Yoshimori Sumimura and Tokine Yukimura are the protagonists of the series. They are the heirs to two rival generations of kekkai users, and they are tasked with protecting their school from the evil spirits that are drawn to the hallowed soil on which it is situated. Kekkaishi was honored with the Shogakukan Manga Award for shonen manga in the year 2007.
