A Canadian series called BeastMaster aired on television from 1999 to 2002. Based on the MGM picture The Beastmaster from1982, it was a loose adaptation. There were three full seasons of the show. Production company Coote/Hayes Productions is behind it. Two awards were given to the series, one of which was the Saturn Award for Best Syndicated/Cable Television Series by the American Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films in 2001 in the field of cinematography. While BeastMaster is now airing on Sci-Fi Channel in the United States, it is not being aired at prime time.
