The action-crime television series Black Scorpion premiered on the Sci-Fi Channel in 2001 and on Space in Canada in 2002. Based on two films by Roger Corman: Black Scorpion and its sequel, Black Scorpion II: Aftershock. The drama revolves on a female police officer who, at night, becomes the superhero Black Scorpion and fights crime on the streets. There are numerous references to the original Batman television series, as well as guest appearances by Adam West and Frank Gorshin. Episodes1.1,1.3, and 1.8 were merged to create the 2002 direct-to-video film Sting of the Black Scorpion. The entire series was temporarily available on DVD in North America, however the set has since been discontinued.
