Brass Eye
The British television series Brass Eye features satirical news periodicals. A 1997 series of six episodes and a 2001 episode were broadcast on Channel 4. Chris Morris devised the series, and Morris, David Quantick, Peter Baynham, Jane Bussmann, Arthur Mathews, and Graham Linehan wrote the episodes. Michael Cumming has directed the series. It was a continuation of Morris's previous satirical news programs On the Hour and The Day Today. It satirized the media's presentation of social ills, focusing on sensationalism and moral panics. The series included Doon MacKichan, a colleague of Morris's from The Day Today, Gina McKee, Mark Heap, Simon Pegg, Julia Davis, and Kevin Eldon.
