As a teenager in his third year of high school, Tomoya Okazaki harbors feelings of resentment. After the death of his mother in a vehicle accident, his father became addicted to alcohol and cigarettes. As a result, the two engage in a series of physical altercations until Tomoya suffers an injury to his shoulder. Tomoya became a delinquent as a result of his father's lack of involvement in his life. A mysterious girl, Nagisa Furukawa, who is a year older than him but is unable to attend school because of illness, greets him on his way to school. Since most of her pals have gone on, she spends a lot of time on her own. Tomoya's life begins to change as the two spend time together, and it's gradual. An anime adaptation of the well-known visual novel game, Bleach.
