Carl Sagan, Ann Druyan, and Steven Soter wrote and presented Cosmos: A Personal Voyage. Adrian Malone executive-produced, and David Kennard, Geoffrey Haines-Stiles, and Gregory Andorfer produced and directed. It discussed the origin of life and our place in the universe. The series debuted on PBS in 1980 and was the most popular until The Civil War. It was remains the most watched PBS series in the globe as of 2009. It received an Emmy and a Peabody Award, and has since been seen by over 500 million people in over 60 countries. A book was also released to go along with the series.
