In 1715, on the Bahamian island of New Providence, the first functioning democracy in the Americas, the evil pirate Edward Teach, a.k.a. Blackbeard, rules over a country of thieves, criminals, and rogue sailors. Part shantytown, part marauder's paradise, this location is unlike any other on earth - and a growing menace to international business. Tom Lowe, a highly accomplished undercover assassin, is dispatched to the buccaneers' hideout to eliminate the smart and charismatic Blackbeard in order to seize control of this dangerous society. However, the closer Lowe comes, the more he realizes that his mission is not as straightforward as he had believed.
