Thirty years ago, a "spacequake" killed 150 million people in Eurasia. Since then, the world has been plagued by lesser spacequakes on an irregular basis. Shido Itsuka, an average high schooler, meets a mystery girl near the epicenter of a spacequake and learns she is one of the "Spirits" responsible for the spacequakes. He is asked to use his unknown talent to seal the Spirits' abilities, preventing them from posing a threat to humanity. To seal a Spirit's power, he must make her adore him and kiss him.
