Faerie Tale Theatre
Faerie Tale Theatre is a live-action anthology series for children that retells iconic fairy tales. Shelley Duvall is the show's narrator, host, and executive producer, and she occasionally appears in episodes. Tall Tales & Legends, a shorter series that followed the same style as Faerie Tale Theatre and concentrated on famous American folk tales, followed. Both programs, which were inspired by the children's television series Shirley Temple's Storybook, feature well-known performers and directors. From 1982 through 1987, Showtime aired Faerie Tale Theatre. It later aired as edited re-runs on the Disney Channel and in syndication on numerous television stations such as PBS and BookTelevision.
