Fear Factor is an American sports stunt/dare reality game show. It initially broadcast between 2001 until2006, when it was canceled. It was later resurrected in2011, only to be canceled again on May13, 2012. A two-part special aired in July 2012, following its second cancellation. Now or Neverland was the title of the original Dutch version. When Endemol USA and NBC modified it for the American market in2001, they changed the name to Fear Factor. Contestants compete in a variety of stunts for a grand prize of $50,000. From Seasons One to Five, the contestants were normally three men and three women competing for themselves, but in Season Six, the show switched to a permanent format of four teams of two people, each with a pre-existing relationship with one another. The show was presented by comedian and UFC analyst Joe Rogan, executive produced by Matt Kunitz and David A. Hurwitz, and directed by J. Rupert Thompson.
