Ryan King, a sports talk radio broadcaster who recently became a widower and is eager to resume his career following the death of his wife. Stephen, Ryan's alpha-male supervisor, has a different plan in store for Ryan and requires him to attend bereavement therapy before he is allowed to return to flying. Ryan, who does not want to be there, ends up joining a support group for those going through "life change." There, he meets an eclectic ensemble of characters, many of whom have their own histories that are marked by some degree of bereavement.
