Holocaust

The Holocaust is a television miniseries that was produced in the United States and aired on the NBC television network in 1978. The series was broken up into four parts. The Holocaust is recounted in this series from the point of view of the Weiss family, who are German Jews, as well as that of a rising member of the SS who progressively transforms into a ruthless war criminal. The Holocaust brought attention to a number of significant events that took place before to and during World War II. These include Kristallnacht, the establishment of Jewish ghettos, and the utilization of gas chambers later in the war. Even though it was lauded by critics and won a number of prizes, the miniseries was attacked by certain viewers, including the famous Holocaust survivor and author Elie Wiesel, who called it "untrue and offensive."
