The plot takes place a century after the Empire of Snow (Ice Tribe) conquered the Fire Tribe in a conflict. The war, however, was devastating, leaving Prince Ka Suo and his younger half-brother Ying Kong Shi as the Ice Tribe's only royal heirs and pure-blood ice illusionists. As his lover, Li Luo, and his brother go missing, Ka Suo reluctantly ascends to the throne. In the Ice Tribe's holy sanctuary, Ka Suo also discovers an evil presence. He and his allies enter the strange shrine and fight Lady Yuan Ji, the shrine's leader, only to discover that she is scheming against him. Ka Suo also faces difficulties in his search for his beloved and brother, unaware that his brother has lost all of his memories and has been transformed into the Fire Prince by his mother. The two brothers are pitted against each other in a new conflict between the two tribes.
