Two six-episode series of I'm Alan Partridge starring Steve Coogan were produced in 1997 and 2002. The sitcom follows Alan Partridge, a failed TV presenter whose adventures were parodied in Knowing Me, Knowing You with Alan Partridge and who now hosts a Norwich radio show. Both series were written by Peter Baynham, Coogan, and Armando Iannucci. Felicity Montagu played Coogan's mouse-like personal assistant Lynn Benfield. Simon Greenall was Geordie Travel Tavern handyman/BP garage attendant Michael, while Phil Cornwell was DJ Dave Clifton. Critics and fans liked it, and it was nominated for three BAFTAs, two British Comedy Awards, and a Royal Television Society award.
