Interceptor
The British game show Interceptor was devised by Jacques Antoine, Jean Jacques Pasquier, and Malcolm Heyworth. It was produced by Chatsworth in partnership with Thames and shown on ITV over the summer of 1989, with one episode held back for a special New Year's Day broadcast on January 1, 1990. It was produced between the game shows Treasure Hunt and The Crystal Maze by the same production group. Annabel Croft, a former tennis player and Treasure Hunt sky-runner, hosted the episode. Sean O'Kane portrayed the eponymous Interceptor character. Critics and viewers praised Interceptor, but only eight episodes were produced. Nonetheless, the show has a cult-like following, which encouraged Challenge's decision to air reruns beginning in 2001. In 2002, UKGameshows.com's public vote ranked the series as the thirteenth best game show in the United Kingdom.
