Jam
Chris Morris developed, wrote, and directed the postmodern British dark comedy series Jam, which aired between March and April 2000 on Channel 4. It was based on the BBC Radio 1 program Blue Jam and consisted of a series of unnerving sketches set to ambient music. Many of the sketches re-utilized the original radio soundtracks, with the actors lip-syncing their lines; this unconventional technique contributed to the eerie mood of the program. The cast includes Amelia Bullmore, David Cann, Julia Davis, Kevin Eldon, and Mark Heap, as well as Morris himself, with whom he had previously collaborated on such television programs as The Day Today and Brass Eye. It was penned by Chris Morris and Peter Baynham, with additional material from Jane Bussmann, David Quantick, Graham Linehan, Arthur Mathews, and the cast.
