Kavanagh QC

Between the years 1995 and 2001, Central Television produced the television show Kavanagh QC for the British television network ITV. It may be seen on ITV3 quite frequently, and seasons 1–6 are all distributed on DVD in Region 2. Barrister James Kavanagh QC, played by John Thaw, hails from Bolton, Greater Manchester, and was raised in a working-class family there. The series starred John Thaw. This information is not revealed until later episodes, when his parents' health begins to decline, as well as during a conversation with a coworker who incorrectly assumed that Kavanagh was truly from Yorkshire. The show covered his struggles in the courtroom as well as his family tragedies, including the passing of his loving and loyal wife during the course of the show's run. Later on, he starts a relationship with another attorney at the firm. In court, Kavanagh is almost always shown defending a client who, up until a certain point in the case, appears to have a good chance of being found guilty. However, there are occasions when Kavanagh is seen acting in the position of a prosecutor. In the primary storyline, Kavanagh must frequently deal with situations that involve some form of prejudice, whether it be racism, sexism, or another kind. The pomposity and self-absorption of Jeremy, a posh barrister in chambers, were the source of the humor in the story's subplots. Kavanagh will not tolerate injustice, and he will not allow himself to be intimidated by his adversaries in the courtroom, whether they try to bribe or threaten him.
