In the Yorkshire Dales, three elderly citizens who have never really grown up embark on an adventure to discover the world without the constraints of wives, employment, or any other responsibilities. They pass their days daydreaming about exciting new adventures and making wild assumptions about the people in their community, which is not a pastime that is typically associated with older people. It was in 1973 that the pilot episode of Last of the Summer Wine was broadcast on Comedy Playhouse. Up to 2010, the show aired a total of 295 episodes. It is the comedy show with the longest runtime in Britain, and it is also the longest runtime of any sitcom anywhere in the globe.
