Macross Plus
Macross Plus is a four-episode anime OVA and movie that is part of the Macross series. It was the first sequel to the original Macross TV show that happened in the official timeline. When it came out, Plus was a groundbreaking mix of traditional cel animation and computer-generated animation. It led the way for more computer-generated images to be used in Japanese animation. Both the OVA series and the movie came out in Japan through Bandai Visual, while Manga Entertainment put them out in North America and Europe. Manga Entertainment put out the VHS version in Australia, and Madman Entertainment put out the DVD version under license from Manga Entertainment. It has some new mecha designs that were inspired by the first series.
