Mad Men
Mad Men takes place in the 1960s, originally at the fictional Sterling Cooper advertising agency on Madison Avenue in New York City, and then at the newly formed Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce, located nearby in the Time-Life Building at 1230 Avenue of the Americas. According to the show's pilot, advertising working on Madison Avenue coined the term "crazy guys" in the 1950s to refer to themselves. Don Draper, creative director at Sterling Cooper and founding partner at Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce, and the people in his personal life are the focus of the series. The plot centers on the business of the agencies and the personal lives of the people, frequently portraying the shifting attitudes and social mores of the 1960s United States.
