Maggie and the Horrific Beast is a Canadian animated television series based on books written by Michael Paraskevas and his mother, Betty. In the show, five-year-old Maggie makes a map of Nowhere Land that leads the protagonists nowhere. She believes these to be her pals. Mice, cows, and rabbits are all featured in the show. The theme tune for the show is "Maggie and the Ferocious Beast in Nowhere Land," an original composition by an unidentified composer. Maggie and the Fierce Beast is produced by Nelvana and directed by Jamie Whitney and Stuart Shankman. The first episode of the series aired in2000, and the final episode aired in 2003. Nelvana, the owner of the distribution rights, distributed the program. The original American music was replaced in the United Kingdom by a dub including British voice actors. The program premiered on Teletoon on August26,2000, and is an original production by Teletoon. Maggie and the Ferocious Beast originally aired on the American children's channel Nick Jr. between July15, 2000 and October30,2010, but has not been broadcast on any US station since then.
