Kang-jae grew raised under an unemployed, gangster father. When Kang-jae unexpectedly comes into contact with Lee Dae-hae and his son Sun-mo, he begins to have stronger feelings of attachment to Dae-hae than he does to his own father. Kang-jae acquires a fundamental understanding of magic from Dae-hae and Sun-mo, as well as a deeper comprehension of what it is to truly love one's father.
