My Hero
Paul Mendelson created My Hero, a BBC sitcom. The show aired for six seasons, beginning in February 2000 and ending in September 2006. The series recounts the exploits of the dim-witted superhero "Thermoman," played by Ardal O'Hanlon in the first five series and James Dreyfus in the final five. John Stroud regularly directed the series. The programme is periodically re-run on the digital channel Gold in the United Kingdom, albeit the most recent series has yet to air. It aired on PBS and, for a limited time, BBC America in the United States. Reruns of the first three series were available on UKTV in Australia, while BBC Entertainment provided replays for Scandinavia.
