Ni Hao, Kai-Lan

Ni Hao, Kai-Lan is an American children's television program that debuted on Nickelodeon on 5 November 2007 and on Noggin on 15 December 2008. Additionally, it debuted on the Canadian television network Treehouse TV. The show has been broadcast on Nickelodeon in Israel since March 2009. Ni Hao, Kai-lan is based on the creator Karen Chau's early memories of growing up in a bicultural household. "Ni hao" is "Hello" in Mandarin, and Chau was given the Chinese name Kai-Lan, which was later anglicized to Karen.
