An epic biblical saga of faith, ambition, and betrayal as seen through the eyes of the battle-weary King Saul, the angry prophet Samuel, and the tenacious young shepherd David, all on a collision course with destiny that will alter the course of history. One thousand years before Christ, Saul, the first king of the Israelites, fights to unite the 12 Israelite tribes and defend his young nation against brutal barbarian invasions. The prophet Samuel conveys a message from God to King Saul instructing him to slay an ancient enemy of Israel. When Saul disobeys this message, however, Samuel prophesies that the Lord would rip the kingdom of Israel from him and choose another king in his place. David, the shepherd, will eventually become Saul's biggest threat, not his adversaries.
