Sami Al-daughter Amir's Amirah, an ambitious Iraqi-Australian boxing trainer, follows in his footsteps. While working in the family gym in Sydney's west with her two brothers, Amirah talks with Sami's longtime promoter Strick about a professional debut match for her tough fighter Jess O'Connor. Her father is enraged and threatens to cut her off from him for doing this without his permission. Amirah must choose between her dream of improving women's boxing and her family.
