Bob Stewart devised the American television game show Password for Goodson-Todman Productions. Allen Ludden hosted the game, who was previously recognized for hosting the G.E. College Bowl. Password originally aired on CBS for 1,555 weekday daytime telecasts from October 2, 1961 to September 15, 1967, as well as weekly prime time telecasts from January 2, 1962 to September 9, 1965 and December 25, 1966 to May 22, 1967. From April 5, 1971 to June 27, 1975, ABC aired 1,099 daytime shows. On CBS, the announcers were Jack Clark and Lee Vines, while on ABC, it was John Harlan. Two revivals aired on NBC from 1979 to 1982 and 1984 to 1989, respectively, followed by a prime time version on CBS from 2008 to 2009. It was placed #8 on TV Guide's list of the 60 greatest game shows of all time in 2013.
