Pets

Pets is an adult British puppet sitcom made by Fit2Fill Productions Limited. It first aired on Channel 4 and ran for two series, the first of which aired in 2001 and the second in 2002. It was also sold to Fox in Australia, MTV in Italy, and countries in the Middle East. The show was created and written by Andrew Barclay and Brian West. They had worked together before at the Edinburgh Festival, where they won an award for an ad for The Jerry Springer Show, and on the sketch show We Know Where You Live. All 26 episodes of Pets were about 11 minutes long. Since they were shown early in the morning, the series wasn't very well known, but it did gain a big cult following. On the official website, people wanted Pets to be released on DVD. In the end, a limited-edition DVD was made available for sale on the official website. Along with the two series, the DVD also had two episodes that were never shown on TV, a clip show called "The Trials of Hamish," and a behind-the-scenes special called "The Making of Pets." Several episodes of Pets are currently available as a free podcast on iTunes. In 2010, a similar show called Mongrels aired on BBC3, causing a lot of controversy between the two. The casts of characters in these two shows are almost the same, but Pets had four main characters and Mongrels had five. Also, Mongrels has a wider range of settings than Pets, which only takes place in a single flat.
