Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights is a British comedy show about a working men's club called The Phoenix Club in the town of Farnworth, Greater Manchester, in the north of England. Neil Fitzmaurice, Peter Kay, and Dave Spikey wrote the show. Goodnight Vienna Productions and Ovation Entertainments made it, and it aired in the UK on Channel 4. Toni Baker and Peter Kay wrote all of the music. Paddy McGuinness gave us some extra information. Two series have been made, and the first ones were shown on TV in 2001 and 2002. The show is a spin-off of the fake documentary series That Peter Kay Thing, which gave rise to another fake documentary series called Max and Paddy's Road to Nowhere. At the British Comedy Awards in 2002, it won the People's Choice Award and was nominated for several other awards. Kay also plays more than one role in the show and directed the second season. Kay said on BBC Radio 1 in September 2006 that a third season of Phoenix Nights had been written, but no one knows when it will be filmed. On May 8, 2007, Kay made another announcement saying that another series will be made. In interviews with The Sentinel and the Croydon Guardian in late 2009, Dave Spikey said that neither he nor Neil Fitzmaurice knew of any plans to bring the show back.
