Police Squad!
Leslie Nielsen stars in David Zucker, Jim Abrahams, and Jerry Zucker's television comedy series Police Squad!, which premiered in 1982. The show featured Zucker, Abrahams, and Zucker's trademark sight gags, wordplay, and non sequiturs in a spoof of police procedurals. While it was a parody of a variety of television shows and movies, it had a strong resemblance to Lee Marvin's M Squad and the late 1960s series Felony Squad. Despite being canceled after only six episodes, the show gave birth to the popular Naked Gun film franchise. On TV Guide's list of 60 shows "Canceled Too Soon" in2013, it was ranked #7.
