A Catalan TV show is called Polseres vermelles, which in Spanish is called Pulseras Rojas. The first season was shown on TV3 in 2011, and a second season is set to start in 2013. The show was made by Albert Espinosa, who spent a lot of time in hospitals as a child. Espinosa and Pau Freixas, who is a director and producer, had worked together before on the movie Herois. The show is about a group of Catalan kids and teens who meet when they are all hospitalized at the same time. Some of the main themes are friendship, the will to live, and the desire to get through hard times. The show was supposed to have four seasons at first, and the second one started in January 2013. In October 2011, it was reported that Steven Spielberg's DreamWorks and Marta Kauffman had reached a deal with TV3 for an American remake of Polseres Vermelles. The first season, called Pulseras rojas in Spain, was shown on Antena 3 in the summer of 2012. On December 11, 2012, TV3 said that its second season would start on January 14, 2013. It will be dubbed and shown on Antena 3 later in 2013.
