Shindig!
A musical variety show that ran on ABC from September16,1964, to January8,1966, is called Shindig! by its creators. When the show was first broadcast, Jimmy O'Neill, a disc jockey in Los Angeles at the time, along with his wife Sharon Sheeley and production executive Art Stolnitz, were behind it. The original pilot was rejected by ABC and ABC Executive Producer David Sontag revamped and remade the show. An entirely new pilot was shot, with Sam Cooke as the star. As the show's first episode, it aired on the network.
