One of the mechanical engineering components that makes up the cogwheel system is called the "Gear" (as in a clock). The possession of one indicates that the holder is enrolled in the Faculty of Engineering at the university. However, in order to be eligible for one, first-year engineering students are required to go through the SOTUS system (which stands for Seniority, Order, Tradition, Unity, and Spirit). One of the students in their third year, Arthit (Perawat Sangpotirat), frequently uses his authority over the first-year students inappropriately by pressuring them to engage in activities that are outside the school's policies. The pupils in the freshman class have almost no ability to protest or disobey any directives issued to them by students in the senior class.
