Ann needs to accept odd "temp" jobs to support herself in between auditions and minor parts. Ted Bessell played her lover, Newsview Magazine writer Donald Hollinger, while Lew Parker and Rosemary DeCamp played her worried parents, Lew Marie and Helen Marie. Ann and Donald's pals were played by Bernie Kopell, Ruth Buzzi, and Reva Rose. That Girl was created by authors Bill Persky and Sam Denoff, who had previously worked as head writers on The Dick Van Dyke Show in the 1960s.
