Jerrod Carmichael and Nick Stoller ("Neighbors") create an irreverent sitcom inspired on Jerrod's relationships with his say-anything, contrarian father, his therapist-in-training girlfriend, his ever-hustling brother, and his always-right-with-Jesus mother. Jerrod and Maxine (Amber West), a young couple in the city, move in together. They're intelligent, driven, and seeking to create a happy life together. Family is the only thing standing in their path. Jerrod and Maxine are tested by his larger-than-life brother, Bobby (Lil Rel Howery), and his smothering parents (David Alan Grier, Loretta Devine).
