T.H.E. Cat is an American action drama that aired on NBC in1966-1967, co-sponsored by R.J. Reynolds and Lever Brothers. Harry Julian Fink, who also developed Dirty Harry, created the series. Robert Loggia portrayed the main role, Thomas Hewitt Edward Cat, in the film. T. H. E. Cat is a precursor to television characters like The Equalizer, who circumvent the law and use abilities from previous occupations to aid folks who require more assistance than the authorities can provide. It predated the 1968-1970 ABC television series It Takes a Thief, which also centered on a cat thief who utilized his skills for good.
