The Day Today
Armando Iannucci and Chris Morris devised the 1994 British spoof The Day Today. It's based on BBC Radio 4's On the Hour from 1991-1992. Morris, Iannucci, Wells, Glover, Lee, Herring, Quantick, and cast wrote On the Hour. Peter Baynham joined The Day Today, and Graham Linehan and Arthur Mathews replaced Lee and Herring. On the Hour's cast returned for The Day Today. The Day Today has six 30-minute episodes and five-minute promos for the lengthier pieces. The six episodes aired from 19 January to 23 February 1994 on BBC2. Morris received 1994 British Comedy Award for Best Newcomer for The Day Today. All six episodes are on BBC DVD and VHS.
