The New Avengers

The New Avengers is a 1976 and 1977 British secret agency fantasy adventure television series. It was created by original series creators Albert Fennell and Brian Clemens and is a sequel to the 1960s series The Avengers. The Avengers Enterprises Ltd produced the series for the ITV network, which cost £125,000 per episode to make at Pinewood Studios in England and was broadcast in 120 countries. The series picks on the adventures of John Steed and his squad of "Avengers" as they fight evil plans and world dominance. In the original series, Steed was almost always associated with a woman. In the new series, he had two partners: Mike Gambit, a top agent, crack marksman, and trained martial artist, and Purdey, a former Royal Ballet trainee who combined many of Steed's female partners' finest qualities.
