The New People
The New People is a 1969 American television series on ABC that centered on a group of young college students returning from a tour in Southeast Asia when their plane crashed on an island in the south Pacific Ocean. The crash killed several college students and all but one adult, who was severely injured and died later. The surviving students were the only human beings on the island. The island was unique in that it had been constructed as a potential site for an above-ground nuclear test, which never occurred, leaving all of the facilities and supplies undisturbed and ready for use by the survivors.
